Names and Colors
We had a nice Monday back in Room 203. We spent our morning reading "Chrysanthemum" and talking about our names. We played "Who Put the Cookies in the Cookie Jar," made colorful dot stamp versions of our names, and found friends to play and work with. After snack and PEA, we also sang our "new" alphabet song, identified letters and sounds, and had some phonics practice.
After lunch, we read "Bear Sees Colors" and focused on identifying colors and color words. We used crayons to trace lines to match color words and pictures. We also reviewed class rules and procedures before playing a "Freeze" game and "Mr. Ricker Says." We ended the day with two specials. First we met Sra. Colmenero for Spanish. The class will develop their vocabulary with her. Then we had P.E. with Mr. Simatic. After a quick review from Friday, the class got to playing a fun game. Then we packed up, got our new homework for the week, and lined up for home.
Be sure to check over homework packets for the week. They are due on Friday. Also, remember that Curriculum Night is this Wednesday, August 30 at 6;)0 P.M. in Room 203!
