Packing Up
We had a good Tuesday in Room 203. We began our day by staking care of our morning activities and haring our last Animal Research Reports. Pinero shared his cheetah project and Quinn read his scarlet macaw report. Nice! Next we had our last ELA Workshop of the year. My groups read the last two Sam and Mat books. At independent tables, students played LexiaCore5 games on an iPad. We also visited our last secret center of the year. After snack and recess, we packed up! We took down name tags, cleaned out lockers, packed up art, papers, journals, Animal Research Reports, Ethnicity Dolls, smocks, and much, much more. When we were done packing, we got sponges to clean our desks, chairs, tables, and other places around the room. It looks a little different in our room now, that's for sure!
After lunch, we went on a tour of the first grade classrooms. We visited Ms. Banks, Mrs. Buckley, and Mrs. Dolan's rooms and got to look around and ask questions about first grade. Most of us were a little timid, but I think we'll be okay in August. When we were done, we had our last visit to the library and Mr. Withers. He read us a story and talked to us. We finished our word review and project with Sra. Colmenero in Spanish. Finally we played another fun game with Mr. Simatic in P.E. We ended the day in the room reading a story and singing and end of the year song together. Then we got all of our things and lined up for home. Only one more day to go!
Don't forget that our Kindergarten Block Party is on Wednesday. Dress for the weather. It should be a fun last day!
