The Letter B

We started Monday by learning about our new letter of the week, "B."  We talked about what sound it makes and how to correctly write the capital and lowercase versions from the top down. We practiced our new poem of the week, "Three Men in a Tub," too. After reading "My B Book" we all made our tactile page, "Beans on Bs on a Balloon." We colored the balloon part before gluing on the beans. It was messy fun!

After snack and recess, we used objects (in this case, unifix cubes) to help count numbers. It went well. After lunch, we spent some time talking about our Treasures theme of family. We read some poems about family and then named members of our family. We followed that up by sorting family members on a cut and paste page. We practiced bouncing, passing, and catching a playground ball at P.E. before ending the day with some circle time and a few minutes of choose time with a partner. It was a good day!
