Colors and Shapes

We've been spending some time discussing colors and shapes in room 2. We studied the ten most common colors, with a focus on the primary ones (red, yellow, and blue). Last week, we made a colorful freight train and a stoplight. This week, we used primary color paddles to see how to make green, orange, and purple. We also had a color experiment to see what happens when you mix red, yellow, and blue paints to one another. On the shape front, we've reviewed 15 different shapes each day, including my favorite: the parallelogram. We worked to match like shapes and listened to a story called "Shape Town." We used different shapes to create our own "Shape Town," too. On Friday, we hope to make some shape puppets to play with and bring home. I think we've learned a lot!
