Farm Art
We had a nice Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with our usual Nutrition and morning activities. We read "My Daddy and Me," too. At language arts rotations, students made farm art. They designed a picture with farmland, animals, plants, and/or people before coloring it in with their choice of crayons, colored pencils, oil pastels, or twist crayons. They looked great! My groups read the last Sam and Mat book and made Father's Day cards. The other groups got free choice centers. After recess, we read "The Little Red Hen" and finished our project from yesterday. We wrote six full sentences that matched our six sequenced pictures.
After lunch, we read "Horses" and shared our farm art. We also made a pyramid by decorating, cutting, folding, and gluing it together. We used a little tape to keep the angled sides from collapsing, too. Then we packed up and lined up for home since it's a minimum day.
Don't forget that our class end of the year party is tomorrow!
