End of the Year Party
We had a great Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition outside and our morning activities. Then we read "Me and My Dad." At our last language arts rotations of the year, students worked on finishing some Father's Day projects. My groups read the last "Sam and Mat" book of the series. The other groups had their final secret center of the year. After recess, we read "Just Me and My Dad" and "My Dad and I" (sense a theme here?), and reviewed all 125 of our sight words from the year. We also painted a tie design for Father's Day.
Then we had our end of the year party! We played kickball on the big yard for the first time. Everyone did a great job kicking, running the bases, and fielding. When we got back to Room 2, the tables were set up for a pizza party! We ate cheese pizza, had fruit, juice, and water, and even got plenty of desserts. We had cupcakes for Chloe's birthday, plus had some cookies and brownies, too. We burned off some of that energy by playing on the kindergarten yeard until dismissal. Then we read "What Dads Can't Do," packed up, and lined up for home. Only two more days to go!
Don't forget to bring your backpack AND an extra bag to take home items tomorrow!
