Field Trip to Descanso Gardens
Our class took a field trip to Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge today. We were a little worried about going because of the chance of rain, but it all worked out. Once we arrived, we immediately got into groups and were led off on a tour by the docents at Descanso Gardens. Students were led through several areas: the Rose Garden, the Children's Maze, the Japanese Garden, the waterfall, Mulberry Pond, the Mission Fountain, and more. The students enjoyed seeing and learning about the plant and wildlife on the premises. After the tour, we had lunch and then got to explore some more. While it was a little chilly and overcast most of the time, I think we all had a great day! I'll post some pictures from the trip here, too. Oh, and I'd like to thank all of our excellent chaperones for their help today: Max's mom, Cadence's mom, Maya's mom, Mistaya's mom, Strummer's mom, Sam's mom, and Siena's mom. Thank you for your help!
