Colors and Art
We're wrapping up our Art unit on Color, so I thought I would share some pictures of our finished work. We started the unit by identifying and using colors. We made a color wheel with tempera paint and mixing the primary (red, yellow, blue) colors to get the secondary (green, orange, purple) colors. We drew gardens of color, made a sandwich collage by cutting colored construction paper, put primary color shapes on top of one another and put secondary colors in the overlapped space, and used oil pastels to make hot (red, orange, yellow) and cold (blue, green, purple) colored flowers. We had a lot of fun! I'm posting some examples from the "Primary+Primary=Secondary" project, the hot and cold colored flowers, and the sandwich collages. Enjoy!
